Another Christmas Book Review!

I love talking about faith and finances, I'm actually quite the nerd about them!  That's why I've been a fan of Crystal Paine's website MoneySavingMom.com for a long time now.  If you're a fan of my ebook about making and saving money for Christmas, you'll love Crystal's book Celebrating and Savoring a Simple Christmas

In this book Crystal does talk a little bit about getting great deals and making a budget for Christmas gift spending, but she also talks about things such as craft gift ideas, Christmas music, free printables and much more.  My favorite tip from the book was to create a Christmas bucket list for you and your family so this time of year doesn't fly by in a storm of swiping credit cards (please don't!)  and wrapping presents.  I finished this book over the thanksgiving holiday weekend and I really believe it is a great compliment to the deals and extra money making tips from my book.

Have a great day!

Amazon Book Review: Game Plan for Life by Joe Gibbs

Okay, first up, I am NOT a NASCAR or Football fan.  I have too much ADD to watch hours upon hours of sports on tv (but chick flicks don't count! ha!)  But within one week I had 6 people suggest this book to me.  So, I finally made the decision to download it to my Kindle after hearing such good things about it.

Let me tell you, my lovely friends were NOT wrong about this!  Joe Gibbs (and his friends that contribute on various topics ranging from theology to finances) did a great job at this "game plan".  You'll actually even appreciate this book even if you're not a Christian if you just like learning about history and theology in general.  (One of my family members is in this camp and loves to learn about different religions, but isn't religious himself, he loved this book for that reason.)

I really believe this is a great read for anyone no matter age or sport preferences.  But this would certainly make a great Christmas gift for the NASCAR or football fan in your life (anyone a football wife?! ;) )  It's available in both kindle and paperback so you can give to fans of either type of reading!

Happy Thanksgiving! Last day of FREE, plus 2 new books!

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful for my wonderful family AND for all of you that have downloaded the book!  Remember,  Today is the last day to get the book for FREE!  Tell all your friends and family today at dinner! ;)  If you've already downloaded the book I would be SO thankful if you would leave a review or Like the page on Amazon!

On a side note, I've been thinking about 2 more ebook ideas, hopefully to both be finished within the next few weeks.  One, which I'll work on first is a "12 Dates of Christmas" idea.  Do you like it? I just believe our relationships are so important and marriage is hard work sometimes.  During the busy holiday times we could all use a great reminder to stop and appreciate our significant others.  Leave me a comment if you have any ideas or things you'd like to see (or heck, even if you have a better idea!)

Next, I'll be working on an Ebay selling tips book.  I mentioned this in How To Have A Fabulous Christmas On A Not So Fabulous BudgetIt is certainly one of the best ways to make money for Christmas gifts, but also to save money on Christmas gifts too!  Is this something you'd like to learn more about in detail? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Katie

How To Make Money For Christmas

Times are very tough in this economy.  So many people are struggling with their finances. Do you need money for Christmas?  Unfortunately many people think their holiday's this year will have to suffer due to lack of money.  But that doesn't have to be the case!  There are many ways to make money for Christmas.

Here are a few ways to make money fast for Christmas and holiday presents and parties.

-Swagbucks:  This website allows you to earn points, or "swagbucks" for things like daily polls, surveys, watching ads and clips of videos like celebrity gossip shows, etc.  The biggest way to earn money through swagbucks is just to use the search feature and the toolbar!  Say bye-bye to Google or Bing and hello to free money for presents and even food!  The most popular ways to redeem your Swagbucks are for things like Target or Amazon giftcards (each costing about 500-600 points for $5.  But higher values are available.  As well as other presents like toys, CDs, posters, etc.)

-Jingit has some similar properties like swagbucks.  Only you primarily watch videos/ads and then after each one answer a few on screen questions similar to surveys.  For each video you watch (completely through) and after answering the questions at the end approximately 10 cents to about $1 will be deposited to your account.  There is also an app you can download to a smartphone and use it to "check-in" at your nearby Wal-Mart to get even more money.  Jingit tops your account at $10 per week unless you refer a few others to join, then they up your max amount.  You can opt to get your money sent to you on your personal Jingit debit card or use the money to buy music at their online store.  Either way you slice it its a great way to make money for Christmas gifts.

-Crowdtap is a quick way to make money for Christmas gifts.  Crowdtap has a mission to help companies understand what customers want and like, so answering questions about certain things like if you prefer chocolate or vanilla ice cream or if you dress up for Halloween, etc.  Most answered questions get you 25 points, you can do various other things to earn points.  Sometimes companies like Old Navy will offer to send you coupons for FREE CLOTHING and then take pictures of yourself wearing it and post it to Crowdtap.com.  This is such a great deal and it is a lot of fun! It's the perfect way to multitask while watching tv or cooking dinner.  If you need money for Christmas you can't beat it.  Crowdtap also does charity donations to several charities (you can choose which) based on how much you "play".  You can redeem your points for gift cards, t-shirts or even more charity donations.  For example, 20,000 points gets you a $10 Amazon e-giftcard.  20,000 points may seem like a lot, but my first 24 hours resulted in about 5,000 points.  I took as many survey questions as they would allow me to, probably totaling about 2-3 hours of "play" on crowdtap.  I also plan to do some higher value gigs in the future like the Verizon Pumpkin contest!

-AMS Article Writing:  Do you like to write?  Do you have a few hours to spare each week?  When you sign up to write for AMS/London Brokers you will see the big long list of articles they need written.  None of these are hard to write at all, but you MUST make sure you watch the video that explains the guidelines on how to write for their company.  They have specific rules to follow for writing, but it's all SEO based on the keywords they provide.  You get to write about a huge range of topics which is really fun.  Articles range from about $2 for very short pieces of about 300 words (which takes about 10-15 minutes to write for most people.) To 1,000 words at about $7-8 per article.  Each article has a time limit, most are 48 hours, but some are rush articles that are due within 12-24 hours of accepting them.  You get paid more for articles that are rushed or are passed in within 24 hours (called a bonus.)  With AMS you can easily make $50-100 a week (there are about 10 weeks until Christmas time! That's an easy way to make $500-1000 for Christmas presents and party supplies!)

Please be encouraged! If you need money for Christmas gifts, presents or holiday parties there are plenty of ways to make this money in your spare time with your smartphone and/or computer.  You CAN afford a great Christmas for you and your family.  Stay tuned for more info on ways to get money for Christmas and ways to save money on Christmas presents.
